Holiday Happenings: is your calendar full yet?
Once again, I found myself surprised by how many things there are to see and do here in the Pioneer Valley during the holidays.
And I couldn't even start this year's listing with many of the tree lightings and other holiday events hosted by several area cities and towns before this issue of PRIME was slated to leave our dock for distribution on Dec. 3!
I know the list isn't complete and if you belong to a club or organization whose event I overlooked let me extend my apology (to prevent this from happening next year, put me on your PR list and send me a notice in early November of 2008!).
Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this annual "gift" to you, our readers, and that you will use this list of events to make some wonderful holiday memories with your loved ones this year.
Speaking of gifts, if you've found yourself stumped for ideas for some of the people on your list, PRIME has some suggestions.
On our gift pages (14-17), you'll find suggestions for the top 10 toys for kids from infants to age 10 from the gift experts at the Springfield-based children's specialty shop, Sister's Kids.
This store is just a few minutes from where I live in the city, and I can vouch for the gift advice from these hard-working ladies; they've never failed in helping me choose a birthday or new baby gift that's been a hit!
On those same pages you'll also find ideas for the top five holiday fashion trends, either to spice up your own party outfit or wrap up for that special friend, or niece or grand-daughter.
If your problem is what to get an older relative, we've got suggestions for them, too. Check out the top gifts for the over-70 set on page 20 in Mind & Body.
I hope PRIME also helps you get that gift list filled this year!
As always, we at PRIME hope you and yours enjoy a very happy holiday season.
