Folk singer Mike Agranoff is set to perfom March 13 at 8pm at the Unitarian Universalist Society Meetinghouse in Springfield
March 2, Peter Pan Performance.
The Kinetic State Ballet from Artistic Dance Conservatory, located at 257A Shaker Rd. in East Longmeadow, will perform the childhood favorite, Peter Pan, on March 2 at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant View Senior Center. The Kinetic State Ballet Company is a non-profit division of the conservatory that brings the art of dance to local schools and neighborhoods year-round. Refreshments will be provided. This performance is free and open to the public.
March 2, Music in the Noon Hour.
At 12:30 p.m. Sweeney Concert Hall, Avanti Wind Quintet plays the 1955 Wind Quintet No. 1 by Professor Emeritus Alvin Etler (1913-1963). Free, Smith College.
March 2, Disabled American Veterans.
The local Chapter 55 of the Disabled American Veterans is helping to form an Auxiliary Unit. The chapter meets the first Tuesday of each month at the American Legion Post 185, located at 478 Springfield St., Agawam. March 4, Traditional Music of Afghanistan.
March 4, 8 p.m. at the Sweeney Concert Hall. Performance by John Baily (rubab and dutar), Veronica Doubleday (daireh and voice), and Samir Chatterjee (tabla). The concert is part of a week-long Five College residency by Baily and Doubleday (March 1-5) that will include class visits and film screenings. The concert is open to the public. The Annual Polish Supper, sponsored by the Felician Sisters in Enfield, is having a delicious Polish supper from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. March 7, 2 p.m. at the John M. Greene Hall. The Virginia Glee Club, Frank Albinder, director, joins the Smith College Glee Club in performing the Requiem by Gabriel Faur in the chamber version preferred by the composer. Featured performers: Grant Moss, organ, and soloists Alicia DePaolo '10, soprano, and Richard Block, a member of the Virginia Glee Club, Jonathan Hirsh conducts. March 10-11, 7:30 p.m. at the Hallie Flanagan Studio Theatre. The staged reading of A Number by Caryl Churchill, directed by Andrea Hairston, is presented by Chrysalis Theatre in conjunction with the Smuth Theatre New Play Reading Seres. Churchill has turned her extraordinary dramatic gifts to the subject of human cloning- how might a man feel to learn that he is only one in a number of identical copies? And which one of him is the original? Ms. Hairston is Artistic Director of Chrysalis Theatre and Professor of Theatre and Afro-American Studies at Smith. Free, Smith College.

Mike Agranoff's sense of humor and parody is legend on the folk music circuit, from his home in New Jersey to festivals and concert series all over the northeastern U.S. But it is the extraordinary breadth of his folk repertoire that surprises many who see him in full concert for the first time. He is equally at home in the contemporary and traditonal camps of folk music.

March 19, Frangrance In Your Garden.
"Fragrance In Your Garden" will be the topic of the Springfield Garden Club's meeting at 11:30 a.m. in the hall of Wilbraham United Church, 500 Main St., Wilbraham. Master Gardener, Toi Graham's slide presentation will show how to create a sweet-scented garden for nearly year-round pleasure. All interested persons are welcome to attend. Guest fee: $5. May 1, New York City Trip.
The Agawam Cultural Council is sponsoring a "Plan Your Own Day" trip to New York City on Sat. May 1. Buses will leave from the Agawam Middle School parking lot in the rear of the building at 6:25 a.m. There will be stops at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Rockfeller Center, Times Square Ticket Booth, 34th St. and the South Seaport. The return trip will leave New York City at 6:30 p.m. and be back in Agawam between 9:30 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $33 per person, including the driver tip.
