Shakespeare and Company welcomes internationally renowned director Irina Brook for her highly anticipated adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Canterville Ghost at the new Elayne P. Oct. 4, Music in Deerfield Opens 30th Season with Trio Solisti, performing as part of the MID Smith College Music Department partnership. This "soloists' trio" of pianist Jon Klibonoff, violinist Maria Bachmann and cellist Alexis Pia Gerlach will perform Schubert's melodic Notturno, the trio's unique arrangement of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, and the sensuous Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by classical tango master Astor Piazzolla. All concerts start at 8 p.m. at Sweeney Concert Hall, Smith College. Advance tickets are $28. Reservations are suggested. Lagnado is the coauthor of Children of the Flames: Dr. Josef Mengele and the Untold Story of the Twins of Auschwitz. Former editor of the Forward, Lagnado is currently the senior special writer and investigative reporter for The Wall Street Journal and has received numerous awards for her writing.
