Birthday Wishes
HAPPY 101ST Doris Hunter, a resident of Bluebird Estates, turned 101 years-old this month. She hasn't slowed down during her later years, learning to paint at 99 years-old.
Hunter enjoys singing and belongs to the Bluebird Chorus. She also enjoys knitting and crocheting scarves for inner city children who lack winter accessories.

Senior Dinner
The East Longmeadow Council on Aging's next Senior Dinner will take place at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St., on April 15 at 5 p.m. Menu: baked ham or baked scrod, served with scalloped potatoes and baked carrots. Cost: $5. Sign-up early with payment in the center's office. Special dessert will again be provided by Congressman Richard Neal.
Artist's Workshop
On April 5, well known local artist Susan Tilton Pecora will conduct an entertaining and informative painting demonstration at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St., East Longmeadow, at 2 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Call 525-5436 to register, as seating is limited.
Garden Club Meeting
East Longmeadow Garden Club will present "Wildflowers and Native Plants" on April 21 at noon at the First Congregational Church. Call Firefighters
The East Longmeadow Fire Department is accepting applications for call firefighters. Deadline: April 15. Applications can be picked up Monday to Friday at the Fire Department, 150 Somers Road, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Applicants must be at least 19 years old, reside in town, or within one mile of the town line. Our Lady Of Grace Society
All are invited to come celebrate Easter with the Our Lady of Grace Society on April 16 at 6 p.m. at Elmcrest Country Club, 105 Somerville Road, East Longmeadow. Menu: prime rib or baked scrod. Over 60 Club
The Longmeadow Over 60 Club will host Barbara Bernard and Seymour Frankel in "Love Letters" by A.R. Gurney on April 7 at 12:30 p.m. at the Adult Center, 231 Maple Road.
City Fantastique
The City Fantastique, a festival/conga line to celebrate the arts and creativity in Springfield will take place from Steiger Park to Court Square on April 7 from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Rain date: April 8. Join the conga line at any place.
"A Tribute To Liberace"
Mary Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Blvd., Springfield, is sponsoring a trip to see "A Tribute to Liberace" on April 6. Bus leaves the church parking lot at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 6 p.m. Cost: $69. For reservations, call Sylvia at 594-2757.
Genealogy Workshops
On April 18 at noon, Wistariahurst Museum in Holyoke will present a genealogy workshop. At 2 p.m. Jeanne Nudd Elliot, a specialist in genealogy and administrator for the National Archives and Records, will lead a workshop for adults. Reservations necessary. Cost: $6.
Drawing Classes
The Hampden Council on Aging will present a new eight-week class, "General Drawing with Clare Doyle," beginning April 7 at 10 a.m. Classes will take place each Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon through May 26. Cost: $75. Call 566-5588.
Lenten Luncheons
Join us on April 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. Catherine Parish Center, 1023 Parker St., Springfield. Lunch includes sandwich, homemade soup, dessert and beverages. Cost: $6 or you can purchase items a la carte. Any non-perishable food donation will be collected for the Survival Center.
Italian Dinner, Movie Night
Grace Union Church, 10 Chapel St., Wilbraham, will be hosting an Italian Dinner and Movie Night on April 9 at 5 p.m. Menu: spaghetti, meatballs, sausage, Italian bread, tossed salad, beverage and dessert. Garden Club Meeting
Larry Lirot will be the featured speaker at the April 7 meeting of the Wilbraham Garden Club. Meeting will take place at noon at The Gardens of Wilbraham. Lirot will show members and guests the "ins and outs" of container gardening just in time for summer planting. There will be a luncheon tea followed by a member's meeting and Lirot's talk.
Scholarship Fund-Raiser
Kelly Lynn Rogers scholarship fund-raiser (Chicopee High School cheerleaders) "Night Out" will take place April 15 from 6 p.m. to midnight at Moose Family Center, 244 Fuller Road. Food Pantry Collection Site

Roast Beef Supper
The First Congregational Church of Chicopee, UCC, 306 Chicopee St., will host a roast beef supper on April 9. Dinners will be served continuously from 5 to 7 p.m. Menu: roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy, carrots, pickled beets, rolls with butter, desserts and coffee, tea or milk. Cost: $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages six to 12. Take out available. Tickets are to be purchased at the door. Reservations will be for 5 or 6 p.m. and will only be held for 10 minutes. Reservations may be made by calling 593-5061. Walk-ins are welcome.
Spring Spruce Up
Families of students at Stefanik Elementary are invited to participate in the first Lorraine's Soup Kitchen and Pantry Spring Spruce Up on April 30 from 8 a.m. to noon. Rain date: May 1 same time. The goal is to provide cleanup of city parks and streets for hourly pledges as a fund-raiser for Lorraine's Soup Kitchen and Pantry. Roaring Twenties Gala
On April 8 from 6 to 9 p.m., step into spring for the Roaring Twenties Gala and fund-raiser at Wistariahurst in Holyoke. Photography & Framing
Matting and framing workshops for beginners will be held Thursday evenings in April from 7 to 9 p.m. Instructors are Les Campbell and Elaine Darr-Morton. Les Campbell will also conduct a photography course in April, followed by a review session in May. That course is limited to 15 people, at a cost of $125 each. Digital Imaging Classes
Digital Imaging classes will be taught for four weeks starting April 5 at 11 a.m. in the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Court. The Springfield Jewish Community Center Auction will take on a new format. A silent, online auction will be hosted April 1-10.
